DIEGO MENENDEZ
Diego Menendez was born in 1956 in Argentina, and studied the Buenos Aires Fine Arts Academy. He lives now in Paris and travels often to Indonesia for tropical inspiration.
His exotic portraits, nudes and landscapes are filled with vibrant color and sensual drawing. Menendez’s paintings go beyond reality and insinuate a poetic resonance.
Combining the visual exuberance of the German Expressionists, and a figurative style evoking Modigliani (which he happily acknowledges), Menendez has enjoyed acclaim from critics, peers and collectors the world over. His work can be found in museums in France, Poland and Indonesia, and in galleries in Europe, Asia, now the United States.
