COLETTE LARUELLE
Artist Statement
Painting is not a color-print of the world, such as landscape or scenery, but an initiatory approach, a projection, echoes from a relation with the world, with other people. It is a relation which is endlessly re-examined never to settle, exactly like our own being: an invitation to proceed on the way to meeting oneself, in constant evolution. Painting is related to the sacred. Our being, mine, yours, is the most precious thing to be discovered, the most and the least tangible, elusive, manifold: it is ours far beyond.
About Colette Laruelle
Colette Laruelle lives in Provence where she was born. She started her artistic career by creating tapestries and fully devoted her talents to painting in the early 80's. Laruelle is a painter who trusts her senses, her inner visions and feelings. She lives and shares the deep feelings and visions of the treasured land of Provence, where the pace of life and the changes are hard to measure. Each Laruelle painting has its own identity and memories. We can feel the energy and pulsations of her surrounding environment. Colette Laruelle is always in harmony with nature, with life.
Colette Laruelle is widely collected throughout the world, and has exhibited in Europe for the past three decades.
